Checkout Shield Terms of Service

These Terms govern use of Checkout Shield, a Shopify release assurance application for merchants and agencies reviewing revenue-critical changes before approval.

Service description

Checkout Shield provides store readiness checks, release evidence, validation signals, approval trail support and owner-reviewed decision workflows for Shopify changes that may affect checkout, payments, shipping, discounts, tracking, pixels, post-purchase flows, themes or related revenue paths.

Human-reviewed decisions

Checkout Shield is designed to support human review. It does not automatically approve production changes and should not be treated as a replacement for merchant, agency or operator judgment.

No revenue guarantee

Checkout Shield provides evidence, readiness checks and risk signals. It does not guarantee that all issues will be detected, that every release will be successful, or that revenue loss, downtime or operational incidents will be prevented.

Merchant responsibilities

• Review release evidence before approving sensitive changes.
• Maintain appropriate Shopify, app and staff permissions.
• Confirm that Checkout Shield is configured for the intended store and release workflow.
• Use the service in compliance with applicable laws, Shopify policies and internal business requirements.

Acceptable use

Users must not misuse Checkout Shield, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the service, upload malicious content, bypass security controls or use the service for unlawful activity.

Third-party services

Checkout Shield depends on Shopify and may depend on infrastructure providers used to host, secure and operate the service. Third-party services may have their own terms and policies.

Availability and changes

We aim to operate Checkout Shield reliably, but the service may be updated, interrupted or unavailable from time to time. We may improve or change the service to support security, compliance, product quality or Shopify platform requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Checkout Shield is provided as a release assurance and evidence-support tool. Merchants and agencies remain responsible for final release decisions, store operations and business outcomes.

Termination

Merchants may stop using Checkout Shield by uninstalling the app from Shopify. We may suspend or restrict access if the service is misused or if continued access creates security, legal or operational risk.
