Checkout Shield helps Shopify merchants and agencies review revenue-critical store changes before approval by providing release readiness checks, release evidence, owner review support and post-release validation signals.

Information we process

Checkout Shield processes information needed to connect a Shopify store, evaluate release readiness and generate evidence for human review. Depending on the installed configuration, this may include store domain, app installation state, Shopify configuration related to checkout, payments, shipping, discounts, themes, tracking, pixels, post-purchase flows, order-related validation signals, release assessment identifiers, evidence pack identifiers, validation results and operational logs.

How we use information

• Connect and authorize the Shopify store.
• Assess readiness before revenue-critical changes are approved.
• Generate release evidence for merchant or agency review.
• Support owner-reviewed decisions and avoid false-green approvals.
• Validate releases after deployment and help diagnose issues.
• Provide support, security monitoring and service reliability.

Data minimization

Checkout Shield is designed to use only the information needed for release assurance, evidence generation, validation, support and security. We do not sell merchant data or customer data.

Data sharing

We may use trusted infrastructure and service providers to host, operate, secure and support Checkout Shield. These providers are used only to deliver the service. We do not share data with third parties for advertising or resale.

Retention and deletion

We retain installation records, release evidence, validation results and operational logs for as long as needed to provide the service, support merchant review, maintain security and meet operational or legal requirements. After uninstalling the app, Checkout Shield no longer receives new Shopify data from that store. Merchants can request deletion of retained records by contacting support, subject to security, fraud-prevention, legal or backup-retention requirements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by Checkout Shield. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but the service is designed to limit access and preserve an audit trail for sensitive release decisions.

Merchant control

Merchants can uninstall Checkout Shield from Shopify. For privacy, access or deletion requests, contact us using the email below.
